Beyond traction, the tracks serve a secondary function as shovels when clearing obstacles in desert or mud. The lower height at both ends follows mechanical design principles, allowing the user to lever the track into position or dig out debris with less physical effort than using a traditional tool.

The handle is shaped according to ergonomic principles, making it comfortable to hold during extended use.
