01AUTOMOTIVE REPAIR & SPECIALITY TOOLS
Precision rain measurement for the elements
Mounted securely against the sky, this compact gauge watches over fields, gardens and weather stations with quiet consistency. Its unassuming aluminum form blends into industrial settings while performing its vital task.
The device translates falling water into reliable data via optical sensing. It suits smart agriculture, marine navigation and automated environmental systems that require steady, low-maintenance monitoring.

02MATERIALS
Durable aluminum alloy construction
Crafted from premium aluminum alloy, the sensor withstands high temperatures and persistent dampness without compromising structural integrity. The material choice ensures longevity in exposed outdoor locations, resisting corrosion and physical wear better than standard plastics or bare metals.

04SPECS
Technical specifications and dimensions
The unit measures approximately 85 by 78mm and weighs around 524g. It features a 60mm rainfall mouth diameter and 72mm hole spacing for mounting. A 2.5-meter cable facilitates connection to central systems, while the RS485 signal ensures stable data transmission across various distances.
05APPLICATION
Versatile environmental monitoring
Designed for diverse sectors, this sensor supports smart irrigation, geological disaster monitoring and automated weather stations. Its lack of moving parts reduces maintenance needs, making it ideal for remote installations where regular servicing is impractical or costly.

About this product
1, Aluminum Alloy Construction: Made of premium aluminum alloy material, the rainfall sensor is sturdy and long lasting, capable of operating normally in high temperature and damp environments. 2, Precise Raindrop Measurement: Utilizes a drip sensing design principle with a special internal structure for accurate control of raindrop size, combined with optical sensing principles for raindrop counting to measure rainfall volume. 3, RS485 Output Signal: The rainfall monitoring gauge operates on 9 to 30V power supply voltage, providing precise measurements and high reliability for data transmission. 4, Compact and Lightweight: With no moving parts, the rainfall amount sensor module is compact and portable, easy to install, less susceptible to wear, and simple to maintain. 5, Wide Application Range: Widely used in industries and fields such as smart agriculture, meteorology and environmental guard, smart irrigation, marine navigation, automated weather stations, automatic door and window, and geological disaster monitoring.
Initialize a 16-bit register to hexadecimal FFFF, referred to as the CRC register.
XOR the first 8 bits of data with the low bits of the CRC register, and store the result back in the CRC register.
Right shift the content of the register by one bit (towards the lower order bits), fill the highest bit with 0, and check the lowest bit.
Repeat steps 3 and 4 for a total of 8 shifts, processing the entire 8 bits of data.
Repeat steps 2 to 5 for the next 8 bits of data; the final CRC register obtained is the CRC code (with low byte first and high byte last).
Incorrect displayed value on the instrument during RS485 output. Possible causes include wiring issues or communicating port faults leading to incorrect data retrieval. Check for proper and secure wiring connections, ensure the communicating port is not in use, and verify the port settings.
Instrument display value clearly deviates from actual conditions. Clean the sensor’s water tank, funnel, etc., then conduct testing according to the experimental testing methods.
Please check the packaging for any damage and verify that the product model matches the one you selected. Do not connect the wires while they are powered; only connect them after confirming that everything is correct.
The length of the sensor wire can affect the product’s output signal. Do not modify the components or wires that were already soldered at the factory.
The sensor should be regularly inspected to remove dust, dirt, leaves to prevent clogging of the upper tube (funnel) water passage. It is recommended to clean it once a month for long term operating, and it must be cleaned at least every three months.
If there is dirt on the inner wall of the hopper, it can be rinsed with water or a detergent solution. Do not use fingers or other objects to wipe it to avoid getting oil or scratching the inner wall.
During the winter freezing period, the instrument should not be used and can be brought back indoors.
