01AQUARIUM FILTERS & PUMPS
Coconut Shell Carbon for Clear Water
A quiet workhorse for aquatic environments, this media sits within filtration vessels where clarity is paramount. The granules are uniform and dense, derived from steam-activated coconut shells rather than coal.
It adsorbs organic pollutants, pesticides, and chlorine from water supplies. Suited for aquatic centres, waste treatment, and potable water systems that require consistent chemical balance.

02MATERIALS
Steam-Activated Coconut Shell Origin
Sourced from coconut shell charcoal, this medium undergoes steam activation to create a porous structure ideal for adsorption. The origin provides a stable base for removing small molecular weight organics without introducing unwanted by-products into the water stream.

04FUNCTION
Adsorption of Odours and Organics
This carbon targets volatile organic compounds, pesticides, and chlorine. In aquatic centres, it deozonates water, while in municipal or industrial settings, it strips out impurities from potable sources. The process relies on physical adsorption rather than chemical reaction, maintaining water integrity.
05LONGEVITY
Backwashable Media for Extended Service
Designed for regular backwashing, the granular carbon does not require frequent replacement. Depending on water quality and load, the media can remain effective for several years before exhaustion. This durability makes it a practical choice for continuous-flow filtration systems.

Applications
Air Filtration Volatiles Organic (VOC’s):
The GAC is used as a filter in the vent from the air source being treated. The carbon adsorbs the VOCs which are a common cause of odours. Methyl Bromide (MeBr): The GAC is used as a filter in the vent from the fumigation system.
Waste Water Treatment:
Waste Water: The granular activated carbon is used as a filter in a vessel through which the water is pumped. The GAC is regularly backwashed and does not need to be replaced until it is exhausted which may take several years. Stormwater: The granular activated carbon is used as part of a stormwater sand filter constructed specially for stormwater treatment through which the stormwater is flowing. The GAC will remove organic compounds present in the stormwater. Chlorine Removal: Removal of chlorine from municipal water supply to dairy / food processing plant. Removal of chlorine from municipal water supply to a water / beverage bottling plant. Aquatic Centre: The granular activated carbon is used as a filter in a vessel through which the water is pumped. The GAC is regularly backwashed and does not need to be replaced until it is exhausted which may take several years.
