Acoustic Nirvana on Vinyl

The November 1993 session captured in this vinyl release offers a quieter, more intimate side of the band. It sits comfortably in a collection that values raw, unplugged performances over high-gain distortion.

This is the first Nirvana album released after Kurt Cobain’s death, featuring lesser-known material and guest appearances. It suits listeners who appreciate the nuance of an acoustic setlist.

PERFORMANCE

A Quiet Night in New York

Taped at Sony Music Studios for the television series, this recording presents the band in a stripped-back setting. The acoustic arrangements allow the songwriting to breathe, moving away from the heavier sound associated with their studio work.

TRACKLIST

Covers and Lesser-Known Material

The fourteen tracks include original songs alongside covers by The Vaselines, David Bowie, Lead Belly, and Meat Puppets. During the Meat Puppets number, two members of that group join Nirvana onstage, adding a collaborative dimension to the live experience.

FORMAT

Vinyl with Digital Access

The physical disc comes with an MP3 download card, bridging analog warmth with digital convenience. The packaging carton measures 31 x 31 x 5 cm and weighs 0.5 kg, making it easy to store or display alongside other records.
