The housing is designed for practical mounting between one and three metres high, positioning the sensor within an optimal range for detecting approach. The form factor is unobtrusive, allowing it to blend into garage doors, shed sides or fence posts without dominating the architectural line. A five-metre connection wire extends its reach, permitting installation away from the primary power source while maintaining a secure link to the battery pack.

Self-sustaining energy via solar charging
Powered by a 9V/1.2W solar panel rated for a twenty-year lifespan, the unit draws energy directly from daylight to charge its internal storage. Five 1.2V 900mAh Ni-MH batteries are included, capable of 600 to 800 charge cycles, providing consistent performance over years of daily use. This setup eliminates the need for external electrical connections, making it ideal for remote areas or locations where running cables would be cumbersome.
