01FENCE & GATE ACCESSORIES
Master the mechanics of the lock
This compact kit invites you to explore the intricate inner workings of a padlock, turning a common household object into an object of study. The transparent casing allows you to watch each pin lift as you work, transforming a mechanical puzzle into a visible lesson.
Designed for both novices and seasoned hobbyists, the set provides all necessary tools in one place. It suits those who enjoy understanding how things function or simply want a backup method when keys are misplaced.
MATERIALS
Stainless steel and clear acrylic
The fifteen picks are forged from stainless steel, offering the rigidity required to manipulate tight pin stacks without bending. The accompanying padlocks are cast in acrylic, a material chosen specifically for its transparency. This contrast between opaque metal and clear plastic highlights the interaction between the tool and the mechanism.
VISIBILITY
Watching the pins align
The primary value of this set lies in its educational transparency. Unlike standard locks where the action is hidden within a metal shell, these acrylic bodies allow you to observe the precise moment a pin drops into place. This visual feedback accelerates learning by connecting physical touch with visual confirmation.
CONTENTS
Two locks and four keys
The package includes two distinct padlocks, allowing you to vary your practice routine. Each lock comes with two corresponding keys, ensuring you can test the manual pick against the keyway mechanism. The variety helps build dexterity across different lock profiles before attempting more complex security systems.
STORAGE
Organised in a carrying bag
All components are housed in a single storage bag, keeping the small steel picks from scattering across a desk or table. This makes the set easy to transport to a workshop or office. The compact carton, measuring 20 by 14 by 3 centimetres, ensures the entire kit fits easily into a drawer or shelf.
